Description
3WINpA uses participatory co-creative methods to develop a socio-technical concept to empower (informal) caregivers towards healthy and climate-competent living. The climate crisis as a health crisis increasingly requires transformative approaches that support social change through participatory co-created methods. At the intersection of climate and health, measures can be identified that have co-benefits or rather a triple win, whereby positive synergistic effects can be achieved. Looking at climate mitigation, the climate-relevant co-benefits of health promotion (e. g. sustainable nutrition, active mobility and spatial planning) are playing an important role in CO2 reduction as well as in health promotion. These synergy effects are taken up in the 3WINpA project and linked to the requirements of the target group of (informal) caregivers. Family caregivers are facing a double burden in health and social topics, which is why social participation and health promotion represent a central lever for preventing movement- and nutrition-related secondary diseases. In addition, as an older target group (average age 62), family caregivers are themselves affected by the effects of heat, and the demands of caregiving are increasing. Technical solutions can contribute to these social challenges. Therefore, a concept for a socio-technical solution with and for caring relatives is to be developed by means of a participative and co-creative method and based on the design thinking process. This is intended to integrate climate-related issues into aspects of health promotion and strengthening social participation among family caregivers. The project therefore contributes to socio-ecological and healthy transformation of society.
