Project Details
Description
Due to demographic and epidemiological changes alongside a global deficit of nurses, discourse surrounding the quality of nursing care within healthcare organisations has emerged as a key area of interest. Nevertheless, thus far, there has been a lack of a strategy for presenting the quality of care in order to reflect on the current situation of provision of nursing care and develop it further. Consequently, the current quality of nursing care assessments fail to reflect the definition of good care as perceived by both nurses and care recipients. In response to these criticisms, McCance et al. (2012) developed "person-centred key performance indicators (PCN-KPIs)" and an associated Measurement Framework. The data is collected in the iMPACT-App.
The objective of this project is to provide a tool in German for a systematic and automated collection and analysis of nursing care quality from a person-centred perspective. The aims are 1) the translation of the PCN-KPI, the Measurement Framework and the iMPAKT-App into German, 2) the adaptation to the context in the D-A-CH region and 3) the pilot testing of the German-language iMPAKT-App in the D-A-CH region.
