Person-centred care - from buzzword to reality: indicators for the analysis and evaluation of healthcare systems

Publikation: Konferenzbeitrag › Mündlicher Konferenzbeitrag

Abstract

If we consider the definitions of PCC in the current HC policy paper, the idea of treating every individual as equal, giving them equal opportunities, is inherent in the concept of person-centredness. But it always becomes difficult when the idea PZ is transformed from a buzzword into a real basis for development, but also for analysis and evaluation of systems. However, it is just this transformation that is crucial for systems to be truly person-centred and thus also suitable for counteracting inequality. This project deals with indicators that can be used to assess and evaluate CARE systems in terms of person-centredness. Along four levels on which PC unfolds (individual, interpersonal, organisational and system-related), 23 indicators were developed that can be used for questions of system evaluation, but also for data collection and analysis. Both for quantitative assessments and for qualitative ones.
