Introduction: We propose that there are individual and collective attributes in every scientific inquiry. In music therapy research these attributes may at times be made explicit or in other times they may remain implicit and hidden either at individual or collective levels. So how might we explore the transversal bridges between a researcher and a project in terms of ontology, epistemology and methodology? How is the explicit and the implicit bridged in terms of commitments, beliefs and values? Workshop structure: This workshop will begin with a live staging of a performative collaborative ethnography that reflects upon a recent mixed-method research study on dyadic heart-rate synchrony in a neurorehabilitation setting. After this, participants will be invited to engage in a process of autoethnographic inquiry to chart their commitments, beliefs and values as a researcher and their projects. To provide inspiration for this workshop process we will demonstrate the steps involved in the creation of the performative collaborative ethnography. The project followed five steps: 1. An initial autoethnographic inquiry to the project’s initial questions were used to create descriptive narrative texts. 2. These narrative texts provided the basis for collaborative reflexive conversations about the cross-influence between the self, the body and the research. 3. Video and written documentation of these conversations were purposively selected, collated and edited. 4. The selected documentation formed the basis of writing the performative ethnographic in the format of a theatre script. 5.
